Sponsored Video – Surfs Up!

Posted on 19 December 2013 by Chris Ford

Mercedes , I always wanted one as a kid now strangely I feel too young to own one, when I was young they were seen as a sign of wealth and doing well in life but it’s funny how your mind and tastes change as you get older, which has happened yet again after seeing this new video featuring the Mercedes E-Class , maybe you can be young (well in my 30’s) and cool in a Mercedes? This group of guys certainly seem to pull it off!

The Sound track to the video is provided by Los Angeles synth-rock trio Wildcat! Wildcat! Who themselves have been on my radar having recently co-starred with Passion Pit in the Sam Jones documentary short ‘ Hello Everywhere’ which itself is well worth checking out. I really think these are a band to watch who I’m sure will explode with their debut release next year.
The Short film is directed by Aaron Platt who is known for directing some great music videos including Queens of the Stone Age – “Sick, Sick , Sick” which of course comes across and the film certainly feels more like a music video than a advertisement for a car.

So will I buy a Mercedes? Maybe one day, I certainly don’t think they are exclusively for the retired city worker or eastern European cab drivers as I once did, so yeah there’s a pretty good chance I’d say… just need a pay rise now

Its getting closer to Christmas have you got everything? are you really stuck finding something special to get your loved one? well this rather awesome APP for the Iphone from www.Notonthehighstreet.com called Gift King could be just for you.

If you don’t know www.notonthehighstreet.com they are the perfect place to get something a bit special or customized, lots of cool stuff you wont find as the name suggests on the high street!

The App is really simple to use, utilizing sliding bars after you have answered a few of these bars relating to your loved ones likes and dislikes it then filters down to what the app thinks will best suit that person.

I had a go at the app last week and have to say was really impressed, its very easy to use but to be honest I was more impressed by the great unique gifts on offer, there really is so much selection. I wont say what I bought just in case she reads this but Im really happy with the site and service provided check the app out now on the Iphone app store.

Netatmo Weather Station

Do you remember the weather stations of old? all wood and brass large grand affairs… well welcome to the next generation of weather station, The Netatmo Weather Station.

This rather fantastic piece of kit measures the Temperature, Humidity, Barometric Pressure, indoor CO2 concentration and also has a inbuilt Sound Meter. All of this information available on your smartphone or tablets screen, logged so you can even look back and see for example what the humidity was this time last year.
net2

You may wonder why would you want to know all these things? well for lots of reasons, one maybe not so obvious one I can relate to due to family suffering are people with breathing difficulties who need to monitor air quality, temperature, humidity etc in several rooms, and outside for that is product is ideal with cold air and humidity being asthma triggers this product can help manage the condition greatly.

Also well some people just like to know !

I myself this last week have been using mine to measure the temperature and humidity in my tower cigar humidor, both things are terribly important to make sure your cigars are stored correctly the same is true if you collect wine.

The software is very simple to use and can be used for both Apple and Android Devices.

I suppose my one only gripe is the outside sensor appears not to be waterproof which I find bizarre, I created a makeshift cover for it with a plant pot which seems to do the trick.

Netatmo’s Personal Weather Station is now available online from www.netatmo.com or Amazon.co.uk for £139
