Whether we like to admit it or not we all one the quiet fancy ourselves as being a bit of a James Bond,  but have you ever wondered how James Bond smells?   errm no me neither but I was recently send the new Bond Ocean Royale fragrance to try and I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised how nice it is.

Ocean Royale is the second in the series of Bond scents, its a very summery fresh scent that really reminds me of lazing by the beach sipping a cold beer, or in Bonds case a Vesper Martini?

At £24.50 for a 50ml bottle its very competitively priced but don’t be fooled into thinking this is a cheap cash in as it genuinely does smell great and the scent seems to last quite a while too, I thoroughly recommend all you budding spys check it out.

I’m often sent aftershaves to try in the hope I will write something about them and too often I just cant as they just don’t do much for me, you see I know what I like and tend to stick with it and that means I mostly wear Issey Miyake L’eau D’issey Pour Homme, its a classic scent that I’m often  complimented on.

So I wasn’t sure what to think when I was sent Loewe’s Solo fragrance, for one I admit I havent heard of the brand before although it turns out they have been around since  1846 when a group of craftsmen opened a leather goods workshop
in central Madrid. Within a few years they had established themselves as one of the best names in leather goods and fashion, a trait they still hold dear to this day.
Loewe is now well established in high end fashion with Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani and Laura Biagiotti all having contributed to the Loewe collections.

Loewe launched their first scent in 1985, and has since become a market leader in Spain.

Upon the first spray of the scent I was pleasantly surprised, it actually reminds me alot of my beloved Issey Miyake with its citrus tones  and spiciness but Loewe also have their own unmistakable scent here which they make their own. I’m not the best at describing scents but I know what I like and I like Solo. I wore it out yesterday to meet a friend for lunch and no less than three people enquired as to what I was wearing which is a very good sign indeed!

I have posted about the Joop! Homme fragrance before and I think you will agree with me if I convinced you to try it that its a real winner, in fact I wear it everyday. DSquared2 have launched Potion, a new fragrance for men,  Potion is described as “the scent of seduction” and is fronted by model Diego Miguel.

I recently had the opportunity to  try this new fragrance and will do my best to describe my findings.

Potion is an aromatic woody amber fragrance developed by perfumer Annick Menardo; notes include mint, angelica, thyme, gentian, cinnamon, cashmere wood, patchouli, amber and musk. I think the best way I can describe the smell is that scent of a smells like a blown-out cinnamon-vanilla candle and that’s quite a unique smell which I love!

The bottle has a very retro feel which looks rather elegant in my bath room cabinet

This latest fragrance  from Salvatore  Ferragamo is a woody-oriental scent that is fresh and sensual in equal parts. It opens with fresh notes of Marjoram, Cardamon and Mandarin,  you are hit by a  warm spice of  Saffron and a modern touch of Pimento. Whilst the woody, smoky dry down of Patchouli and Vetiver feels like a real mans scent.

I can imagine this is the sort of scent Don Drapper from Mad Men would splash onto this neck before a night out in a high end supper club, this is one to impress and be noticed.
